Posted on August 13, 2021 in Scaffolding

Looking for a scaffolding solution can sometimes be confusing. There are several types of scaffolding to choose from, and depending on the height, you may need the support of an engineer to ensure you get the right design for your job. Safety is also an essential consideration. So finding the right scaffolding provider can make or break your project timeline and success.

To help you begin considering scaffolding for your project and finding the right provider, we gathered the most common questions we hear and answered them for you. If you still have questions after reading through them, we’ll have answers for those questions too.

Questions About Scaffolding

In this section, we’ll answer your general questions, including those about cost, engineering, and time.

Q: Can I build the scaffold myself?

A: When planning scaffolding for a job, safety must always be a top priority. In our over 20 years in the business, we’ve learned that there are no shortcuts to safety. So it’s best to work with an experienced scaffolding provider and skip the DIY options.

Scaffolding Solutions provides full-service scaffold rental, installation, and dismantling of the scaffold. We utilize a highly advanced scaffolding system with unique safety locking connections that get tighter with use and should be assembled by skilled technicians who have been certified and trained in proper scaffolding installation.

As you get to know us, you’ll see that safety is at the heart of everything we do at Scaffolding Solutions. We always install equipment to OSHA and customer jobsite standards, then after installation, our staff provides a thorough safety briefing before the jobsite work begins.

Q: What is the difference between a swing stage and suspended scaffolding?

A swing stage is another word for a suspended scaffold. Swing stages are the most common types of suspended scaffolds you’ll see at construction sites. Other types include:

  • Float
  • Cantilever
  • Multi-level
  • Interior hung
  • Single-point adjustable
  • Multi-point adjustable

Q: What is the difference between buck hoists and construction elevators?

A hoist or buck hoist is a type of construction elevator that is erected on either the outside or inside of a building that’s under construction. You can use it to move both men and materials. You can also have a buck hoist permanently installed.

Q: How much does scaffolding cost?

A: To answer this question, we’ll need to learn about the project and conduct a site visit to assess your needs and develop a proposal. Every design is unique, which is why the Scaffolding Solutions team takes the time to understand your particular needs. We will “right-size” the solution and give you a very competitive price.

In the meantime, here’s a general overview of some common types of scaffolding:

System Scaffolding: When you need an easy-to-use, quick-to-set-up scaffolding product that’s safer than other options, you need system scaffolding. With system scaffolding, you:

  • Save money by using 50% fewer pieces.
  • Enjoy a faster and easier installation.
  • Spend less on transporting and storing materials.
  • Bear more weight safely at higher heights.
  • Create a scaffolding setup with complex custom dimensions.
  • Enjoy the security that comes with using the industry’s safest scaffolding.

Suspended Scaffolding: Setting up scaffolding at incredibly high elevations can be challenging. But it’s a challenge that suspended scaffolding is designed to handle. Suspended scaffolding solutions such as swing stage platforms are ideal for working on tall buildings where you need to quickly transport personnel and essential tools to an elevated work area.

Q: Do you guys provide engineered shop drawings?

A: Of course! We have in-house Professional Engineers and a variety of highly-trained consulting engineers capable of designing the most challenging scaffolding and shoring solutions. We specialize in overcoming project challenges—for example, fitting scaffolding to complex-shaped structures and protecting historical architecture.

Q: How fast can I get this scaffold?

A: Scaffolding Solutions utilizes highly advanced scheduling software that allows us to be very agile and responsive with project planning and execution. We can almost always figure out a schedule that meets your project needs.

We’re also collaborative project experts with a track record of helping projects reach completion on time and under budget. That’s a unique distinction that sets us apart from other scaffolding suppliers.

Customer Testimonials

The team at Scaffold Solutions really got me out of a bind this past week. Set-up scaffold on Saturday morning and came back Sunday morning to take it back down. Communication was great, speed and safety were excellent and price was fair. I appreciate the solid communication and follow-up from their team and they did a great job helping me get the steel installed in the elevator shaft. Thank you!

I recently had my fourth floor loft terrace enclosed. Scaffolding Solutions, LLC is the only choice you need to ensure your project is successful! Frank Giuliano visited my home and assessed the area, then coordinated with the Patio Enclosure installation manager to build a custom design that was efficient for the project. Frank’s customer service was remarkable. He constantly communicated updates and I felt very comfortable contacting him with any questions. The scaffolding crew only took one day to assemble and disassemble the scaffold without incident. They were pleasant, professional and respectful of my property. Hands down this was the best experience and I definitely recommend Scaffolding Solutions, LLC.
